Deb’s Next Gathering – Budgeting & PMS

June 20, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

16 Butler Place

Dear Supporters or Nom Paper Signers,

If you believe, as many voters do who have shared with me their frustrations during the last couple months of campaigning, that the true potential of Northampton is finding ways to meet the fundamental, present-day needs of all our community at this moment, that is, our children’s effective education and safe passage in this city by sidewalk or street whether on foot or rolling device, please join us on June 20th from 5 to 7 pm at Matt Hoey’s – 16 Butler Place. Matt offered to furnish the space, beverages (alcoholic and non), if I would spring for the pizza!!

I am looking for more such offers in all the wards so I can get to know what’s on your mind so please get in touch if you want to sponsor a campaign party in your ‘hood!! The campaign will spring for whatever and arrange topics for discussion. Let’s bring back the town hall model of dialogue to address these difficult challenges faced in Northampton right now. Get to know who is committed to working with you to change the status quo that we have witnessed causing harm to our kids and our limited mobility residents for too long.

First, we’ll take a deep dive into alternative methods of budgeting for our city, presenting ways of fully funding the schools without detrimental consequences befalling the city. Presenters will show different alternatives and raise necessary questions about the current status quo which is this procedure: 1st develop and get city council approval for cap improvements, then 2nd try to find the money for schools, DPW, and other essential services. Doesn’t this seem backwards and upside down to you? It does to me, so come discuss how we can get this process back to being right side up!

Also, I’ve heard from many smart people and attended meetings where vital info was shared from the community that has caused me to question the current PMS design. I believe the city leaders should engage with the community to hear what they have to present regarding potential safety issues with the present design.
I will have individuals with this referenced information presenting and answering questions, helping the dialogue. Come hear what experts are saying, the engineers, design geeks and disability analysts.

RSVP is not necessary but it is helpful for food and beverage concerns.

Donations to my campaign are not necessary but extremely helpful for events like this one and for getting some yard signs created & distributed. If you want to send a donation to my campaign, please click on one of the DONATE buttons on my website or go directly to my ActBlue page. Thanks in advance if you do.

Hope to see you on June 20th!! Matt has offered use of the fire pit and I hope to persuade a certain gifted cellist to play for us. 🙂 Deb
